President’s Section

Dear friends and colleagues,

The International Society of Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy recently celebrated its 40th anniversary. ISCP was founded in Zurich in 1983 by pioneers such as Dr Henry Neufeld, accompanied by Drs Battler and Von Albertini, and its first Symposium was in Geneva in 1985. In those years the therapeutic armamentarium, although very important for the treatment of cardiovascular disease, was limited.

We are currently witnessing an incredible growth in therapeutics with the incorporation of new drugs and the increasing use of biologics and mRNA interference therapies in CV diseases.

The advancement of medicines fully justifies the existence of a specific Society dedicated to disseminating this new knowledge and collaborating with the continuing medical education as well.

We invite you to join us, be part of ISCP, and dive into the fascinating world of cardiovascular pharmacotherapy.
Thank you and enjoy the newsletter.

Sincerely,
Dr Alberto Lorenzatti
ISCP President 2024

ISCP @ESC 2024 CONGRESS IN LONDON

We’re thrilled to share our remarkable experience at ESC 2024 Congress in London. Our ISCP-ESC Official Joint Session “Emerging Cardiovascular Drugs: Watch This Space” on the first morning was a highlight, drawing an impressive crowd with standing-room-only—a true indicator of the interest and engagement in our discussions; it set the tone to a truly inspiring start of the congress! The session featured presentations by ISCP Board members including Prof Doreen Tan from Singapore, and Prof Gheorghe Andrei Dan from Romania and was chaired by Prof Antonio Martínez Rubio from Spain and Prof Alina Scridon, ISCP Governor for Romania. If you missed it, you can still watch it online on the ESC 365 platform.

Our Booth (F150 South Exhibition), strategically positioned in the International Associations & Publishers Row, became a central hub for visibility, partnerships, and meaningful exchanges. It served as a dynamic meeting point for our Board members, Governors, and the cardiology community, offering a space for networking, sharing experiences, and discussing the hottest topics in Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy. Here´s a short video with our highlights from the congress and our booth, if you are curious. Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to making this event truly unforgettable.
Bring on ESC 2025 in Madrid!
